Wenpanga Center

In the fall of 2007 Jerry Swanson and Marcel were able to purchase a piece of land in the city and broke ground on the Wenpanga Center.  The Wenpanga Center is a Bible school for pastors specifically to learn how to teach through the Bible, chapter by chapter, verse by verse.  The center has been completed and held the first sessions in February of 2008.  Sixty pastors from Ouagadougou and surrounding areas were expected.  Over 120 showed up on the first day.  Praise God! 

Martha Smith, from Grants Pass, Oregon, who recently traveled to Ouagadougou with the Swanson's also attended the first Wenpanga Center classes, and has written the comments below about her experience. 

The inaugural Pastor's Conference at Wendpanga Center was a huge success.
Initially 63 pastors signed up and by the end of the two-week conference 120 pastors were attending.  

The teaching was awesome.  5 American pastors came to instruct the Burkinabe' pastors how to teach the Bible verse-by-verse, chapter-by-chapter.

Pastor Shay Swanson taught 1Timothy.  Pastor John Doss taught 2Timothy.  Jon Severson taught Titus.  Pastor Dax Swanson and Pastor Ben Bronson taught Joshua.

I learned so much.  I filled up two notebooks and went through 2 pens. 

Each pastor received a Certificate of Completion at the end of the conference.  And each of us were given the privilege of planting a tree at Wendpanga Center.

Wendpanga's heart's desire of 7 years is finally fulfilled, by the Power of God and the grace of His Son, Jesus Christ.
