Hello All,

Summer is here… so we are looking forward again to a Fall ministry trip to Burkina Faso .  We are so blessed to be able to be used by the Lord to build up the church in this small poverty-stricken nation. Thank you for all of your prayers and support.

The Wend Panga School for pastors

One hundred and forty pastors have already committed to the intensive Bible school that we will run when we are there. We’re blessed to have Dax and Shay, two of my sons who are pastors, among those coming to teach. The two-week school will teach through Daniel and Revelation (which is what the pastors requested).  They will take what they learn directly back to their small congregations around the country.

Church Roofs

It is such a blessing to be able to provide a church roof to a body of believers who have been faithfully praying and waiting. Providing a roof is essentially providing a church building – as they have in most cases already built the walls, which they can do. We are hoping to provide 20 churches with roofs this trip; they currently cost about $1200 each.

A Personal Note

Jan and I are thankful to have been involved in this ministry for almost 20 years. Due to my progressing Parkinson’s disease, I am currently treating every trip as my last.  While it is difficult for me to think of being unable to minister, I know that  we will stay involved. And we are grateful for others – such as Loren Anderson at The Fellowship at Bend – who have come alongside and are planning their own trips to Burkina Faso to continue to bless the church there.

Prayer Requests

Please pray for:

- The Pastors at the school. Please pray that they will grow in their understanding of Scripture, and that they might be able to use what they learn with their congregations.

- Safety for the team. Travel to Burkina is always a long trip involving many planes. And the food and conditions are a bit different than here in the U.S. Please pray for health and strength for those going.

- Fellow believers in Burkina. Islam continues to increase in the country. We pray that the pastors and leaders can clearly present the gospel and be used to shine the light of Jesus Christ in this increasingly hostile environment.
